Graal Architecture designed Jaurès Recreation Centre in Athis-Mons, France, a facility for small children designed on the basis of today’s learning methods. The new building assigns strategic importance in the area to the Jaurès school campus, allowing it to play an important urban and architectural role in a setting complicated by the presence of a number of period buildings of different types and styles.

Kengo Kuma The Exchange: a new centre for Sydney
Kengo Kuma & Associates have designed a new multipurpose civic centre in Sydney’s vibrant and active Darling Harbour district, including a library, childcare facilities and retail space with a fresh food market. The seven-floor building breaks with the high-rises around it to become an attractive new urban landmark.

Ppa + Encore Heureux: Pratgraussals Events Hall in Albi
The new Pratgraussals Events Hall is part of the redevelopment project of the right bank of the river Tarn, in the French town of Albi. Ppa Architectures and Encore Heureux, winners of the 2016 call for tenders, designed an events hall based on the principles of modularity and flexibility.

Longgang Cultural Centre by Mecanoo
Dutch firm Mecanoo has completed the construction of a large cultural centre in the city of Shenzhen in China. It is a complex of four buildings with sloping façades that play with full and empty spaces to great dramatic effect, creating public spaces of transit and gathering capable of adjusting the flow of people. They also provide cutout views of the skyscrapers in the nearby commercial district.
