MAD presents Cloud Centre project for the Aranya artistic community
Architect Ma Yansong and his MAD studio unveiled the design for the Aranya "Cloud Centre" in Qinhuangdao, in northeastern China. A multifunctional public building designed for the vibrant community of Aranya, conceived to look like a "floating cloud by the sea", given its proximity to the scenic Beidaihe coast.

aoe has constructed the world’s first Sino-Italian cultural exchange centre in Chengdu, China
Chinese architecture firm aoe has built an art centre dedicated to Sino-Italian cultural exchange close to the city of Chengdu. The unique architectural structure brings together elements borrowed from ancient Roman arenas and contemporary designs formed of circular cutouts, whilst the interiors are dominated by an almost sacred atmosphere thanks to the omnipresence of white, the sheer size of the spaces, the arched openings, the columns and the vast windows which offer spectacular views of the natural surroundings. The architecture is a place in which two opposing poles meet - east and west - each dedicated to their respective cultures and symbolically joined together by two routes, like the two Silk Roads, over land and sea.

Palaluxottica by Studio Botter and Studio Bressan wins the Premio Architettura Città di Oderzo award
The Palaluxottica in Agordo, designed by Studio Botter and Studio Bressan, has won the 17th Premio Architettura Città di Oderzo award. The judges chose the project from among the 10 finalists for its ability to qualify the territory around it, contributing both architectural quality and social value.

Miralles Tagliabue EMBT wins the competition for Shenzhen Conservatory of Music
A new era is about to begin for Shenzhen, the Chinese metropolis which aims to become an important cultural centre with ten new buildings designed by prominent international studios such as Zaha Hadid Architects, SANAA, Jean Nouvel, and Sou Fujimoto. These prestigious names are now joined by Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, the studio led by Benedetta Tagliabue, winner of the international design competition for the creation of the city’s new Conservatory of Music.
