Studio DAP

Bergamo, Italy,

Construction of the Ferretti International headquarters in Dalmine required conversion of an existing building in a zone between the old town and the modern part of the city.

Studio DAP Elegant and original, the construction is conceived as a set of sculptural forms made of different materials: from glass to wood, cement and aluminium. The balconies, the windows and other functional elements are camouflaged by the architecture.
The outdoor space is organised to provide two entrances: one for vehicles and one for pedestrians. The pedestrian entrance is marked by a path of wooden staves, flanked by a pool of water and a profile of low walls leading to the elevator and to the entrance to the building.
The project won the ALA Assoarchitetti 2002 Award in the Under 40 category, revealing outstanding ability to identify with the company's image and its communicative and functional requirements.
