The amateur photographs who have won the 2013 Sony World Photography Awards have been announced, and the winner in the architecture section is an Italian: Martina Biccheri.



Sony World Photography Awards 2013 - Exhibition  
The World Photography Organisation has announced the winners in the Open, Youth and 3D categories of the 2013 Sony World Photography Awards.

10 photographs were selected out of almost 55,000 photographs entered in the Open section for amateur photographers, one in each category. Unlike the professionals? section, the selection in the Open section was based on a single photograph. The winner in the architecture category is Italian: Martina Biccheri, with a photograph taken in Rome in the spring of 2012.

The award-winning photographs will be exhibited at London?s Somerset House April 26 through May 12 2013 and published in the 2013 Sony World Photography Awards.
The "Sony World Photography Awards Open Photographer of the Year" will be selected from among the 10 finalists in the Open section and announced on April 25 in London, when an award will be presented to Slovenian photographer Matjaz Tancic, winner of the best 3D photo section, and the winners in the Professional category will be announced.
