SapienStone Atelier Clerici Fuorisalone 2016
The Tiepolo Room in Palazzo Clerici provided the prestigious setting for an exclusive dinner prepared by the renowned chef Massimo Bottura on a futuristic table from the SapienStone SMART SLAB TABLE series, designed by designers Clemens Weisshaar and Reed Kram for the Iris Ceramica Group. The table puts to the test the potential of SapienStone SMART SLAB, a new composite material combining heating and cooling technology with sensors directly in large, thin ceramic panels.
SapienStone SMART SLAB TABLE is an installation that will remain on display throughout Milano Design Week April 12 through 17 in the Tiepolo Room in Palazzo Clerici.
At Fuorisalone 2016, Palazzo Clerici hosts "Atelier Clerici", the third edition of an independent exhibition organised by Space Caviar and Z33. The elegant 18th century stately home hosts installations, exhibitions and meetings organised by companies, designers and international institutions concerned with experimentation with the future of design and its links with architecture, technology and society. Here, the
SapienStone SMART SLAB heralds the arrival of high-tech intelligent surfaces incorporated into elegant materials for architecture and interior design. SapienStone SMART SLAB TABLE is a refined 3 m x 80 cm tabletop with technology concealed on the underside of the ceramic slabs, round heating elements for cooking food and keeping it at a specific temperature, with cooling elements on the same surface to keep beverages cold even while the food is cooking!
