Philippe Daverio says that design is a matter of mediation or meditation between the dialectic opposites which make up architecture, opposites which he identifies as the
static realisation and the psyche dominated by the
imagination. The exhibition
“Peace and quiet ? Subliminal projects by Alessandro Mendini, Michele De Lucchi and Angelo Micheli” investigates pure design of ?elements which, at first site, seem to have no possible references in the everyday world of buildings but represent the eternal laws of standing up combined with the freedom of poetic thought" (P.Daverio). The items on exhibit are brass and copper sculptures by
Alessandro Mendini, the "little houses" of
Michele De Lucchi and the "cypresses" of
Angelo Micheli. The non-architectural projects by the three architects are on display until June 5 2011 at Palazzo Fava in Bologna.
