Paulo Mendes da Rocha: Technique and imagination exhibition

"Architecture as a vast transformation of the land, a way of changing topography and representing changes in infrastructure" is the key to the work of Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The Brazilian architect who was awarded the Pritzker Prizein 2006 is the subject of an exhibition at Triennale di Milano curated by Daniele Pisani which opened on May 5.

The exhibition sheds light on the historical context of the Brazilian architect’s work and underlines recurrent themes and significant aspects of his architectural projects.
A large amount of material (drawings, photographs, models, objects) mostly from Paulo Mendes da Rocha’s studio demonstrates how the Brazilian architect addressed various different types of architecture and the principles of design on which his work is based.
