On a former industrial site in Leiden, Pasel Kuenzel Architects has designed a private home covered with zinc panelling.

Pasel Kuenzel home V36K0809 Leiden, the Netherlands On a former industrial site near the old town centre of the city of Leiden, work is underway on one of the biggest plans for collective residential development of private homes in the Netherlands. Pasel Kuenzel Architects have been appointed to build eleven homes, and recently completed home  V36K0809, a double home for parents and children. From the outside, the building looks like a compact volume shut off from the city around it, with walls of dark zinc panelling. Once we pass through the heavy wooden gate, the finishes change, and the image we get is of an oasis of tranquillity, with a hidden patio shared by the two homes, in which outside and inside blend together through big glass walls.
