Paolo Portoghesi,

The university campus in the city of Treviso incorporates a series of buildings of different ages, which have been subjected to an ambitious restoration programme by architect Paolo Portoghesi with the support of the Cassamarca Foundation.

After this the old Military District on the opposite bank of the Sile was renovated. The need for a link between the two buildings led to construction of a maple wood bridge anchored to the two shores with four obelisks. The Bortolan family palace was restored at the same time.
The open spaces between the buildings have become a place for students and townspeople to stroll, showing how the redevelopment of the buildings has truly revolutionised the form of the city.
