Open-Air Museum art photo exhibition
"A visual dialogue between symbols expressing local culture.
Creation of an ideal open museum exhibition route"

This sums up the idea behind the art photo exhibition “ Open-Air Museum” by Gianluca Giordano, to be inaugurated on April 12 in Genoa, in Sale dello Strozzi in Palazzo Lomellino, Via Garibaldi 7.

Gianluca Giordano, who came up with the idea and curates the exhibition, experiments with a form of photographic reinterpretation of architecture which pays close attention to material and its forms, a close-up vision of architectural manufactures which is permeated by the background of a reporter from the world of restoration and art.

Through the camera?s lens, Gianluca Giordano studies, constructs and traces an ideal exhibition route for an open-air museum. Photography establishes the bonds between different ages, cultures and territories, between classic works and the Olivetti factories in Via Jervis, home since 2001 to an open-air museum and example of 20th century Italian industrial architecture, in which different uses have had no impact on the original architectural spaces.
