The Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park, set between the city and the natural beauty of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, has made a major industrial zone into a green park dedicated to art.

Olympic Sculpture Park - Weiss/Manfredi. Seattle, 2006 The project's vocation is not only taking art to the city but interweaving the natural and urban landscapes. The idea is to propose the park as a dynamic spatial reality which is continually being transformed, in which greenery and sculptures change constantly, with the seasons, producing ever-changing scenarios. In the first stage of its artistic programme the park hosted sculptures by Richard Serra, Mark Dion and Glenn Rudolph.
"The design's vibrant terrain is intended to emphasize and interplay with the things unique to Seattle - rain, mist, reflection - in a series of interconnected precincts", explain the architects.
