The Dutch firm has transformed a disused factory into a modern Call Centre with education centre and a projects incubator.

A former mustard factory in Dijon completed in 2004 and vacant since 2009 has been transformed by the architectural firm MVRDV into a call centre with an education centre and a projects incubator. Architects MVRDV saw this as a design opportunity to face the challenge and literally recycling and reusing the contemporary spaces abandoned due to the economic crisis.

The project is aimed at improving the building to preserve its already very good structure and organise the interior spaces. Starting from the fact that the interior had exaggerated dimensions for the needs of a Call Centre and revealing the working methods of the order, the architects decided to design unusual work areas.

Creating a flexible work landscape with both sprawling and private areas and an informal interior design to create a fun and creative working environment. The original facade has been kept for budget reasons; the architects chose to transform it by covering the exterior with QR codes that represent the companyâ??s business.
