The weekend of 10th – 13th October in Palm Springs will see the Modernism Week Fall Preview. Advance ticket sales have already begun for fans of modernist architecture.
In Palm Springs, the long weekend of Columbus Day, from 10th to 13th October 2014, is dedicated to the Fall Preview of the 10th edition of the great event for lovers of modernism: Modernism Week, which will take place from 12th to 22nd February 2015.
The Modernism Week Fall Preview is a unique occasion to take part in a wide range of events like walks and bike or bus tours dedicated to modernist architecture, to visit the new museum of architecture and design, the Palm Springs Art Museum, or simply to meet other design fans.
The weekend will also see the Modernism Show & Sale, at the Palm Springs Convention Centre, a trade fair and market dedicated to furniture and design items in all the styles of the past century.
It is a real celebration of modernism in the Californian desert that aims to spread an awareness of American modernism, with a special focus on education and preserving pre-existing architecture.
