With Cersaie only a few days away, we take a look at the group show curated by Angelo Dall’Aglio and Davide Vercelli: a voyage through bathroom furnishing materials, surfaces and designs in Hall 30 of the Bologna exhibition centre.

Milleluci - Italian Style Concept exhibition – Cersaie 2017

The group show conceived by designers Angelo Dall’Aglio and Davide Vercelli for the 2017 Cersaie International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings is named after the television variety show Milleluci presented by Mina and Raffaella Carrà in 1974. "Milleluci", because light is an essential element in the group show, used for its ability to underline the material surfaces of products and create emotions.

The designers have also borrowed the television variety show’s format and the atmospheres of the seventies. From radio to cabaret, from musicals to operetta, every episode of Milleluci was dedicated to a specific kind of performance, just as the exhibition focuses on ten theme sets, each linked with a genre of film or theatre. A big backlit image linked with the selected film or opera will allow visitors to recognise the theme of the set instantly. Theme soundtracks and special changing light and visual effects will complete the multisensorial exhibition and take the public into a science fiction film or a cartoon, a musical, a horror show or a western. The exhibition will also be represented in the city centre, for Milleluci will be participating in Bologna Design Week with two sets, “La dolce vita” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, set up in the Quadrivio at Galleria Cavour to act as gateways to Cersaie in the centre of Bologna.
