Horizontal development, spaces open to public traffic, light from the zenith, entwined volumes: these are the elements defining the character of the National Centre for the Contemporary Arts to be built in Rome's Flaminio district.

MAXXI- National Centre for the Contemporary Arts. Zaha Hadid. Rome The complex, to be built on 30,000 square metres of land, is the result of the decision to create a centre dedicated specifically to art and architecture and redevelop this area to the north of the city with cultural activities and new services. The exhibition area covers 6,ooo square metres plus an additional 2,000 for temporary exhibitions as well as additional archive space.
On the outside are large areas for installations of contemporary art, while the parking lot will be housed underground.
