Glass,

The Rodin Pavilion in Seoul, Korea, designed by Kohn/Pedersen/Fox (KPF) in 1997, is part of an assemblage of glass interventions for the new Samsung Centre.

The system was planned with two basic modes of operation: one for summer and one for winter.
During the winter, heating and ventilating units supply warm air into the glass wall cavity from floor grilles located between the inner and outer membranes. Return air is provided along the inboard side of the perimeter glass line.
This air flow direction is reversed during the summer to cool the wall cavity and prevent heat accumulation.

This 1500mq. illuminated space, far from the chaos of the Seoul business district, gives a "cultural pause" for the citizens, stressing the differences between art and commerce as well as between the nineteenth and the twenty-first century.
