Italomodern 2 Martin and Werner Feiersinger exhibition in Innsbruck
Brothers Martin and Werner Feiersinger are back to look at post-war Italian architecture and specifically the architectural scene in northern Italy.
The brothers, an architect and an artist/photographer, had already held an exhibition in 2011 at the aut. architektur und tirol museum in Innsbruck entitled Italomodern 1946-1976, which then travelled on to Italy.
As for the first exhibition, for "Italomodern 2. architektur in oberitalien 1946 – 1976" Martin and Werner Feiersinger travelled around northern Italy to seek and photograph works by rationalist, brutalist and organic architects built between 1946 and 1976.
The buildings are shown in their natural setting, complete with all the signs of time, without any ideological or formal censure but with the intention of offering a vast overview of the development of architecture at that time in history.
The exhibition is accompanied by a volume of the same name, published by Park Books.
