Italian design and the photographs of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo
The Vitra Design Museum presents the exhibition “Zoom. Italian design and the photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo”, offering a new way of interpreting the history of Italian design through an exhibition of furnishings, lights, objects, books, periodicals, posters and a vast series of photographs from the Ballo archive. Italian design has been recognised and appreciated all over the world since the second half of the twentieth century, thanks in part to the work of photographers such as Aldo Ballo and Marirosa Toscani Ballo. Their lenses focus on the beauty and function of objects, and their photographs have themselves become an integral part of Italian design, rather than just recording its history.
