Identità Milano exhibition - Triennale di Milano
Gae Aulenti, Michele De Lucchi,
Triennale di Milano and the Brand Milano Committee set up in July 2012 by personalities from civic society, the professions and the university have presented the exhibition Identità Milano, the product of a series of studies aimed at representing the way the city tells its own story, and how the city's image is perceived by Italians and citizens of the world in view of the upcoming Expo 2015. For this purpose 14 identifying themes have been selected, freely interpreted by 6 Milanese illustrators.
The exhibition route, designed by architect Michele De Lucchi, focuses on a number of specific themes such as: the city's coat of arms and its heritage of popular symbols, icons of art, historic and modern buildings, topical places, and two hundred natives and adopted citizens of Milan.
Moreover, seven locations in the city of Milan will host 7 scenery towers also designed by architect Michele De Lucchi to represent the identifying themes interpreted by the illustrators. The selected sites are: Arco della Pace, Via Ampere, Piazza Duca D’Aosta, Piazza Gae Aulenti, Piazza San Fedele, Piazzale Teatro Arcimboldi and Parco Solari, which will become gathering places for citizens on the occasion of performances planned to start on May 26th:
