Its position in a district which is home to other buildings by prestigious international architects and focuses on art, design and luxury goods confirms Gehry?s knack for coming up with iconic designs in spaces that seem to catalyse energy and attention from all over the world.
The architect behind Ginger and Fred in Prague, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Experience Music Project in Seattle is now working on an office building, while continuing to amaze us with another project that speaks the language of the unexpected and the spectacular. The IAC Building?s sculptural forms are enriched with unusual twists designing a sort of large transparent boat.
The surface of the facades, embellished with white etching, creates a translucent effect emphasising the building's light weight.
About 50 metres tall, the building has 10 floors arranged in 8 modules: 5 lower levels and 3 upper levels. The upper levels have a smaller floor plan, around which terraces have been built with sweeping views of the city.
