Giorgio Armani Store The Armani Group opened its first "Emporio Armani" store in an airport in September 2003.
The new point of sale was opened in Leonardo da Vinci in Fiumicino, near Rome, in Satellite Terminal C, used for international departures.
The store was designed by Giorgio Armani himself in collaboration with an internal staff of architects, includingLuca Frezza, on the basis of the concept used in his New Bond Street store in London.
Organised on a single level measuring 200 square metres, the "Emporio Armani" in Fiumicino offers everything from underwear to evening clothes, sportswear, Armani Jeans collection, watches, fragrances, Emporio Armani Jewellery, gifts and a complete range of accessories.
The store's clean, minimal design is enhanced by use of materials such as steel, matt metal, sanded glass and slabs of "Pietra Serena" from GranitiFiandre, used in the technical ceramic flooring. Pietra Serena is a part of Geologica line presented by GranitiFiandre at Cersaie 2003; the slabs have a basically uniform, rocky look which fits in perfectly with the walls and furnishings to create a precious translucent "box" presenting clothing and accessories.
