Ecological contemporary architecture for a housing development in Bordeaux, France, where materially different buildings are given continuity by a shared ground floor.

Ginko Eco-Neighbourhood by Nicolas Laisné and Christophe Rousselle

The ecological housing development designed by Nicolas Laisné and Christophe Rousselle is an excellent example of contemporary architecture.
The system includes four apartment buildings and seven single-family dwellings, divided into two types according to the cladding material.

The lot, referred to as Saint-Exupéry, is on the left bank of the River Garonne, in northern Bordeaux, with a big garden at its centre linking the individual buildings. The buildings all share the same ground floor, creating an impression of continuity at street level which is interrupted at the higher levels.
The façades of the buildings are designed to offer optimal views of Le Lac and of the public park from the living rooms of the homes.
