Genoa PRA Rowing Center The Pra Rowing Center's vocation is genuinely aquatic: the two buildings housing the rowing club are shaped like overturned hulls and are located in an area overlooking the channel where boats set off and return. The area involved measures 3000 sq. m. and is part of the so-called Pra protected strip, an area that the local administration has set aside as a maritime leisure and sports activities.
This strip was created by artificially filling in a beach to a height of 4.5 m. above seal level and gradually sloping it down to the rocks, at 1.6 m above sea level.
The center designed by Enrico Pinna and Diego Zoppi for the Genoa City Council and completed just over a year ago, is made entirely of lamellar wood and comprises two separate buildings, joined only at basement level. Each building has a separate function: the south block houses the sports facilities, while the northern one is a club house.
