The Matter and Light exhibition showcasing the work of Catalan architect, Josep Ferrando at the Aedes Gallery in Berlin is a synergic interaction of place, light and space. Floornature attended the opening and had the pleasure of admiring the 12 models, where matter reigns supreme.

Josep Ferrando, one of Spain’s young, highly talented architects as described by Kristin Feireiss, who founded the Aedes Gallery in Berlin, is on exhibition in Berlin until 21 August.
An opportunity to get a close look at the models of his creations, which Josep Ferrando himself defines as “a combination of light and matter”, where light creates the effect of being alive and gives movement to volumes that, formed of matter, are actually inanimate.  So the models on show give visitors an idea of the architectural volumes but at the same time – and more importantly – they convey the “vibrations” springing from the architecture.
The exhibition space of Aedes Am Pfefferberg is perfect for these models, accompanied by a selection of multimedia material. There is nothing to disturb visitors who can therefore interactively connect with the architecture of Josep Ferrando, as you can clearly see from the photos taken during the evening.

The exhibition was opened with the attendance of the Spanish Ambassador to Germany, HE Pablo García-Berdoy Cerezo, with the aspiration of seeing the young architect – highly regarded in his homeland – perhaps also at work in Berlin, a constantly evolving city when it comes to architecture.
