#floornaturelive in Venice – Alpitecture meets Biennale

The first impact of #floornaturelive at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice - “Fundamentals” - has been the Calatrava Bridge. And who cares of bad weather if you are in such a unique place like Venice?
150 meters from the vaporetto station of San Zaccaria you can easily find the well marked exhibition “Alpitecture meets Biennale. Topographic structure” bringing the South Tyrolean architecture platform alpitecture in collaboration with EOS (Export Organisation Südtirol) to the 2014 Biennale in Venice.

The welcome party last night has been a great showcase for an Italian region like South Tyrol where the architectural culture is strongly related to the local craftsmanship. A place producing architecture at highest quality levels but even attracting star architects like Zaha Hadid or Snøhetta.
“Architecture is about networking” and thus the spaces in Palazzo Bollani are focussed on interaction between visitors and exhibitors.

The exhibition is open from 5 to 8 June from 10AM to 10.30PM and offers a variety of collateral events:
Tonight at 7 PM after the book presentation of MoDus Architects there will be the BAUMEISTER Focus talking with Stephan Trüby speaking about the Biennale. Tomorrow 6 June at 11 AM architect Roland Baldi will present his book and at 7.30 PM it's Pecha Kucha Night for the exhibiting architectural firms and craftsmen.
On saturday evening the event “alpitecture and friends” is all about networking and on sunday 8 June there is the closing night of the exhibition. So there should be enough time to visit the South Tyrolean at Palazzo Biennale which is near to Piazza San Marco and a 10 minutes walk from the Giardini dalla Biennale.
