Floornature visits Inside Town FAB Milano

Milan,

Sport & Wellness,

FAB Architectural Bureau,

We visited some of the most interesting Fuorisalone installations at the 2016 Salone del Mobile. Here’s a look at Fiandre’s Inside Town, set up at FAB Architectural Bureau, Via Solferino 40, Milan.

Floornature visits Inside Town FAB Milano

Inside Town, the installation Fiandre presented for Fuorisalone 2016 at FAB Architectural Bureau Milano, surrounds and involves visitors by transporting them to an imaginary city of the future, a fascinating example of webcreativity.
As we step over the entrance portal we find ourselves in semi-darkness; carefully designed and timed lighting reveals the buildings in this micro-metropolis around the visitors, built on a scale of 1:100, while the skyline of another city stands out on the horizon.
The buildings are all covered with Maximum Fiandre Extralite® ceramic slabs. The space is amplified by mirrors around the walls of the room to great dramatic effect, reflecting the images infinitely multiplied, disorienting and fascinating even visitors already familiar with the FAB space.
Following the illuminated route, we come to the main exhibition hall, where the ratio of the buildings changes from micro: the buildings become little skyscrapers, material totems to be observed or glimpsed to discover what is inside them.
In a game that may be interpreted in a variety of ways, visitors are invited to create their own route following the horizontal signals. The lines run quickly around the room, inviting visitors to discover the interiors set up in some of the totem buildings, installations symbolising the numerous possible applications of Maximum surfaces for interior design, or showroom areas where people can see the materials for themselves and discover their many different versions and technical solutions.
