The Floornature editorial team visited CERSAIE on 25th September to attend the lectio magistralis of architect Rafael Moneo and a conference by Scandinavian architects Andreas G. Gjertsen and Yashar Hanstad from the TYIN Tegnestue architecture studio, as well as reviewing innovations in ceramic and porcelain stoneware tiles for floors and coverings from Ariostea, Eiffelgres, Fiandre, IRIS Ceramica e FMG and Porceliangres.
Stand by Ariostea
"Ariostea surface container" is the design concept by architect Marco Porpora for Ariostea. Paonazzetto S and Crema Marfil (from the Ultra Marmi collection) with Ivory and Bronze (from the Ultra Icementi collection) are the new products that Ariostea chose to cover the large boxes that were stacked along the perimeter of the stand to mark and guide visitors through a display in which they discovered the materials and were led to a central space.
Stand by Eiffelgres
High tech full body porcelain tiles by Eiffelgres are enriched by new colours inspired by nature in the new Landstone collection presented at CERSAIE 2013. 6 new shades (Paper, Ginger, Shore, Chilli, Tobacco and Coal) created by architect Mauro Bellei for Eiffelgres that can be combined with Greigetone, the first collection of the Tone Programme presented in 2012.
Stand by Fiandre
Maximum is the focal point of the large Fiandre stand: pure, high tech porcelain tiles just 6mm thick that architects from the Archilinea studio have created with pure lines and plastic volumes. The display shows the wide potential of this material, with its aesthetic qualities and size that increasingly resembles blocks of marble and quarried stone.
Stand by Iris Ceramica e FMG
The design by architect Paolo Beleu of Studio U from Padua from the FMG e Iris Ceramica stand highlights the tiles from the new collections presented by these two companies. Large 300x150 tiles Maxfine (Onice Perla, Onice Oro, Nero Imperiale and Crema Marfil Extra) and 6 new classic marble tiles just 9 mm thick by FMG. Inside the stand visitors are encouraged to stop and contemplate Hi-lite tiles by Iris Ceramica, created by artist Erio Carnevali from Modena. The collections for floors (Shire and Pietra di Basalto) and coverings (Calx, Balance, Blooming and Muse) complete the product range on display by this company from Fiorano.
Stand by Porcelaingres
An imaginary contemporary underground station welcomes passersby and presents the new range named “Underground” by Porcelaingres. Five Terrazzo tiles with new colours that enrich the de_tiles collection and are the ideal additions to the Just Grey and Just Beige base ranges.
