The exhibition presents all the well-known Japanese architect?s works from an unusual point of view: the original sketches and signatures with which Tadao Ando dedicated the books he published during his career in Japan and other parts of the world.
The original sketches with which the architect accompanied his dedications were created using a great variety of techniques and represent his built works and unbuilt projects.
Some of them are just sketches, clean lines boldly and rapidly traced with felt pens, while others are proper charcoal and pastel drawings.
The simple lines of these little drawings offer the observer a glimpse of Tadao Ando?s architectural thought; the speed with which the architect captures and reproduces the forms, structures, textures and volumes of his architecture in synthetic signs.
