Common Ground ends at the Architecture Biennale in Venice

The curtain falls on "Common Ground" by the architect/curator David Chipperfield at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition organised by the Venice Biennale.
This show was one of the most popular Italian exhibitions with an average of over 2,000 visitors per day.
The conclusive event, the “Grand closing meeting” was held on 24th November at the Teatro alle Tese dell’Arsenale. Here, a question led dialogue allowed participants to reflect on the key themes of the exhibition and discuss the reactions inspired byDavid Chipperfield and the architects that took part in the 2012 Architecture Biennale such as Rafael Moneo, Luis Férnandez-Galiano and Wouter Vanstiphout. Critics and other architects contributed to the final meeting on "Common Ground" comparing it to different styles like that of Reiner de Graaf, Alice Rawsthorn, Andres Lepik, Bernhard Schulz, Matthew Slotover and Oliver Wainwright.

For the occasion of the 13th International Architecture Exhibition the website Floornature.com introduced the first edition of Next Landmark, a competition dedicated to architects who graduated in the new millennium. This initiative is aimed at highlighting the work of young designers (architects, engineers, landscape architects, urban planners and designers). The winning projects of the competition were exhibited in a fringe event at the Architecture Biennale in Venice and now Next Landmark has become a travelling exhibit.
La prima tappa, realizzata in collaborazione con l'Ordine degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori della Provincia di Parma, si svolgerà il 4 dicembre alle ore 18.00, presso The first event, created in collaboration with the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Curators of the Province of Parma, will be held on the 4th December at 18:00 in the Pasubio space, Parma.
