MVRDV has won the design competition for the China Comic and Animation Museum.



China Comic and Animation Museum: MVRDV wins the competition Another success story for MVRDV architectural studios, winners of the international design competition for the China Comic and Animation Museum (CCAM) in Hangzhou.

The design by studio MVRDV contains explicit references to the world of comics, a source of entertainment for the young which has evolved into a highly sophisticated art form .

The building consists of a series of eight interconnected spheres, each with its own function: the hall, theatres, cinema, library of comics, etc.
The museum will have a total surface area of 30,000 m2, including parks, a plaza and a 13,000 m2 trade fair centre. Construction is due to begin in 2012.
