MaxFine: visual continuity for modern surfaces

FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti adds to architects’ creative potential with its MaxFine line of porcelain tiles. Reconsidering the very definition of modern surfaces, they break down "the boundaries between surfaces for architecture and furnishings".
The biggest MaxFine rectangular tiles, measuring 300x150 cm and 6 mm thick, represent a technical milestone that redefines the very concept of covering.
Coverings have always been seen as the "external" part of architectural design, but MaxFine porcelain maxi-tiles rethink the traditional functions of covering, supporting and distributing loads on floor slabs, including functions of an aesthetic nature (the relationship between spaces in the home, integration or contrast with furnishings, visual communication between indoors and outdoors).

Big porcelain tiles thus become architectural materials for all intents and purposes, not only for covering floors and walls but for all kinds of indoor and outdoor surfaces, including kitchen worktops, bathroom counters, garden tables, ventilated façades and even flush-mounted doors.
MaxFine recently added 2 new types of marble tile to its collections: Bianco Lasa, one of the world’s most precious marbles, in a marble-like tile with "an even look with subtle and moderate veining".
Blue de Savoie is a greyish marble typically found in the Savoy region of France, "with a compact background and subtle white veining". The gallery illustrates the many uses of other new MaxFine marble effect porcelain tiles: Eramosa, Arabescato, Extra White and Estremoz Crema, exhibited recently at Cersaie 2015. The potential applications of MaxFine porcelain tiles are evident at first glance; no matter what their intended use, from the home living room to the bathroom, from commercial spaces to offices, restaurants, train stations and airports, they offer all the quality of a final product guaranteeing an overall visual continuity that is hard to beat.

Eramosa is a dark brown maxi-tile with a striped texture recalling wood, like that of the Canadian marble that gives it its name, traditionally popular in architecture for its ability to create a refined, elegant atmosphere.
Opposite to it in colour but equally elegant, Extra White is a bright white tile with subtle, original light grey veins adding an original dynamic touch.
Rivalling Extra White in brightness, Estremoz Crema is a porcelain maxi-tile in delicate, sophisticated hues.
More variety in the veins, just like the Italian marble that gives it its name, characterises the Arabescato maxi-tile.
With a cosier feel that makes it uniquely suitable for spaces in the home, such as the living room or the dining room, Arabescato also makes an excellent countertop material for the bathroom, where it stands out dramatically from the rest of the interior.
