Castello Hotel Reastaurant Of course the finishing materials used were also chosen following careful analysis of performance and aesthetic parameters; practicality combined with beauty and elegance were the reasons for the choice of Travertino Classico al Verso from the Pietre High-Tech line by Ariostea.
The warm hazelnut slabs are characterised by patches and veins in a darker hue.
Their use in the flooring of the entire restaurant involved application of 30 x 30 formats alternating with 15 x 30 strips and 15 x 15 small tiles. The same material was also used in the washrooms, in 30 x 60 slabs alternating with mosaico on both the floor and walls. The matt surface finish adds a unique radiance to the finishes and to the whole premises, accentuating the characteristics of order, simplicity and balance underlying the project.
The need for strength and practicality was also related to the desire to create a home-like image in the hotel. The architectural project reveals the architects' careful consideration of the local context and history, from aspects of urban interest to the way materials are used inside and outside the building.
