Blue Space is a planning agency for the fashion industry. Bloom Design completely redesigned the company’s Guangzhou offices to add character, preserving the existing building but making it more flexible and aesthetically consistent with the work that goes on inside it.

Bloom Design’s Blue Space Office

The Chinese architects and designers of Bloom Design demonstrate their abilities in the interior design project for fashion planning agency Blue Space’s office in Guangzhou, China, which stands out for its great spatial flexibility.

The designers chose to preserve the main building, replacing the internal dividers with sliding panels that leave users the freedom to reconfigure the space at will. Daylight plays a very important role in the design of the building, but to get there visitors must first cross the "blue space": a long, dark entrance corridor lit up by a deep blue neon light forming the company’s name, creating the calm, reflective atmosphere typically associated with the colour blue.
The finishing touch adding contrast and creating a grunge atmosphere is removal of portions of the plaster to leave the walls bear, in contrast with the white-painted ceilings and other areas.
