The new Pinterest headquarters. Schwartz and Architecture
American firm Schwartz and Architecture and the concept designers from All of the Above / First Office are the names behind the new San Francisco headquarters of image-sharing social network, Pinterest.

The rapid expansion of the image-sharing social network start-up, Pinterest has been accompanied by an increase in staff, necessitating appropriate office space.

So, a design team headed by architecture firm, Schwartz and Architecture with the interior designers from All of the Above and First Office, carved out the necessary office space in a 4180 square-metre, old red brick factory.

The concept also integrated the start-up’s unique work and operations as a virtual pin board. The office building includes: large tables where people can meet, work together and brainstorm ideas plus four white volumes to configure the flexible open space so it also includes more secluded areas. These volumes also engage with the interiors through large windows.

The walls have been painted white, the physical version of the web boards, a place to “pin” notes and sketches.

These new Pinterest headquarters reflect the social network’s creative core with an “analogical” spin on the digital mechanisms.
