SBID International Design Awards 2014

Interior design can bring out the best when refurbishing existing spaces. The “Contemporary Classicism” design by Canadian firm, Regina Sturrock Design Inc. is a finalist in the SBID International Design Awards 2014. A concrete example of how to create a contemporary home.



Canadian firm, Regina Sturrock Design Inc. is the name behind the “Contemporary Classicism” project, a finalist in the SBID International Design Awards 2014 in the Residential Design over 1 M category. Regina Sturrock and her team were involved in the design of this new build home on a very comprehensive level beginning with the initial planning and concept development phases, to project management and administration during the build and seeing it right through to its latest landscaping phase for an amazing residence in Burlington, Ontario.





Regina Sturrock Design Inc. worked for the "from-the-ground-up" project within the fine proportions and symmetry of the property. “Contemporary Classicism” emphasises the building’s Palladian style gracing it with fine detailing, like the milled ceiling work, the wrought iron railings and sleek, uncluttered furnishings. At the same time, the designers adopted solutions to improve the home’s energy efficiency.



The project is notable for its participative approach and the consideration of the needs and developments of the different users. It is, as Regina Sturrock says, “a place where the family would be happy”.



Voting for the 15 categories of the SBID International Design Awards 2014 closes on 5 September 2014. The winners will be announced during the Award Ceremony on November 14th at The Dorchester Hotel, London.
