Revamp plus container. A perfect combo: Hub-Box Exeter.
British architect and design studio, hooperberg creative collective has designed the second Hub-Box, the pop-up, mini version of the original Hub restaurant in St. Ives, which specialises in locally sourced, gourmet fast food. The Hub Box in Exeter uses simple, yet catchy materials, guaranteed to grab your interest.

The design team from hooperberg creative collective has taken an old bakery and turned it into a really eye-catching hamburger joint – all with simple, reused and recycled materials.

They stripped back the walls to expose the warm brickwork that beautifully offsets the ground back and polished concrete floor.

Plywood and OSB board were used as finishing surfaces on the metal-frame counters and tables. But the best part of this pop-up venue is the 6-metre, reclaimed shipping container housing the kitchen, just like the first Hub-Box, also designed by hooperberg.

The artwork is spot on too, with some edgy wall murals showcased by attentive lighting design.

The outside still looks the same – an old bakery in an ordinary location, its unassuming appearance drawing you in like a blast from the past.
