Merkurhuset in Gothenburg by the OLSSON LYCKEFORS studio, between present and past
The Merkurhuset project designed by the Swedish Olsson Lyckefors studio not only takes its name from one of the most iconic buildings in Sweden's second largest city, but also enters into dialogue with the protected historical pre-existing architecture. An 8,000 square metre building is born that fits harmoniously into the urban context, without losing its identity.

Ivrea reopens its doors: Welc-Home to my House 2023
Once again this year, Ivrea - the industrial city of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site - opens its doors for visitors to marvel at Olivetti’s architecture, with involvement from local citizens and a media partnership with Floornature. There are two weekends available - 23/24 September and 30 September/1 October - as well as days dedicated to photography and architecture on 22 and 30 September respectively.

Singapore-based architecture firm WOHA, known for its green architecture many years before forests on towers became fashionable, has designed Singapore's pavilion for the World Expo 2020 in Dubai. The pavilion is a prototype that demonstrates how the built environment can coexist with nature.

Building for community, smartvoll in Großweikersdorf, Austria
In 2017 the Austrian architecture firm smartvoll won the competition to build the new civic centre in Großweikersorf, a small town in Lower Austria. The architecture completed in 2020 draws inspiration from local traditions and offers a physical meeting point for all citizens.

Hakka earthen houses on display at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale
The exhibition Hakka Earthen Houses on Variation at pavilion 30 of Forte Marghera is a collateral event of the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2021, and investigates Co-operative Living, Art and Migration Architecture in China. Because migration and cultural identity are aspects that strongly influence “how we will live together”.

Duoyun bookstore in Taizhou designed by Wutopia Lab
