- Floornature and Livegreenblog for TAB2015
Building on the concept of the Nordic-Baltic Architecture Triennale, established in the ’90s, the TAB curatorial team - led by architect and urban planner Marten Kaevats and produced by the Estonian Center of Architecture - proposes a programme that looks into the future of the architecture profession, specifically exploring what our world - the “Self-driven City” - will be like after the third industrial revolution, also known as the digital revolution.
The four key events are the Vision Competition, the Symposium, the Main Exhibition and TAB-Lab, which offer lots of opportunities to network and exchange ideas on the themes of urban planning, the liveability of cities in general, all in the unique setting of Tallinn.
The Vision Competition “Epicentre of Tallinn” was launched as part of this, inviting architects, landscape architects, urban planners and students to propose ideas and methods for improving the quality of public space, when the streets will be dominated by self-driving cars. The starting point being Tallinn's main traffic junction, the intersection of Viru. The competition curator is Arhitekt Must, and the deadline for submissions is 29 May 2015.
The jury consists of Winy Maas, the founding director of MVRDV, Endrik Mänd, the official Tallinn city council architect and Villem Tomiste from the Union of Estonian Architects.
The prizes will be awarded on 10 September 2015 and as official Media Partners of TAB2015, Floornature and Livegreenblog will be following the ceremony live.
