Conference on climate change and indoor and outdoor pollution The upcoming conference in  “Piantiamo il seme dell'architettura che verrà” (We sow the seeds of architecture to come), the cycle of conferences organised by the GreenHub cultural association, supported by the Tuscany Region and sponsored by IRIS Ceramica, is about environmental pollution.

The cycle of conferences called Piantiamo il seme dell’architettura che verrà, (We sow the seeds of architecture to come) continue. The initiative is organised by the GreenHub cultural association, supported by the Tuscany Region and sponsored by IRIS Ceramica. After the April event with the lecture by Danish architect Sinus Lynge from EFFEKT (link Thurøhus, Music Plaza), the next in the cycle is all about climate change and indoor & outdoor pollution, in other words, the importance of design choices for humans and for cities.
What are the environmental pollution factors that impact the lives of humans in cities, indoors and out? What is the relationship between indoor & outdoor pollution and climate change?
These and other issues will be addressed in relation to the project's sustainability and the choice of design solutions that help combat indoor and outdoor environmental pollution, such as photocatalysis, which can dissolve volatile compost and turn it into water, purifying the air and fighting the pollution that damages the environment and the health of humans. So, the sustainability of the project also forces us to assess these elements.
Therefore, architect Donatella Wallnofer will talk about Il benessere antropico: considerazioni e strategie progettuale oltre la sostenibilità (Man-made wellbeing: considerations and design strategies beyond sustainability). Practical examples will be showcased by architect Elena Magarotta with her speech Nuovi paradigmi per l’Architettura contemporanea tra innovazione tecnica e benessere: esperienze e casi studio (New paradigms for contemporary architecture linking technical innovation and wellbeing: experiences and case studies). On the other hand, Industrial Chemistry professor Claudia Letizia Bianchi will explain to the audience how much technological innovation can help lower environmental pollution, with Active Clean Air and Antibacterial Ceramic: la perfetta simbiosi tra design e benessere (Active Clean Air and Antibacterial Ceramic: the perfect symbiosis of design and wellbeing).
Because it is possible to improve the atmosphere and quality of life at home and in public interiors, but also outdoors, starting with porcelain stoneware floor and wall tiles. This is thanks to the scientific and technological progress of Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™, a process created by Iris Ceramica Group for green tiles.
Iris has had this vision since the company started out, its mission is clear from the words of its founder Romano Minozzi: “I have always felt that quality, economic success and protection of the environment were not mutually exclusive. Rather, that jointly they were the vehicle for the positive development of industry.”
