A.S.T.I. Fest 2016, Urban Regeneration Exploring the themes of Architecture – Development – Territory – Innovation during a month of events, exhibitions, seminars: this is A.S.T.I FEST, in the town of Asti, running from 1 to 29 May.

The Association of Architects, Designers, Landscape Architects and Curators (Ordine degli Architetti, P.P.C.) in the province of Asti organises the event every three years through its Culture Committee; it is sponsored by the Municipality of Asti and international architecture portal Floornature.com is media partner.

The issue of Urban Regeneration - connected to architecture and urban planning - is coming to light more and more and A.S.T.I FEST covers it in three sections: reusing decommissioned containers as major potential in our urban centres, because by this repurposing, the urban fabric can be more concentrated; regenerating the public space, also as a driver of social change, and redeveloping existing buildings.

From 1 to 29 May, A.S.T.I FEST has lots to offer, starting with the provocAZIONI exhibition (a play on words - provocazioni means provocations and AZIONI alone means ACTIONS) collected on the web in response to an Open Call to find out what provocative actions the Asti residents have in mind for the themes mentioned above.
See the official site for all the initiatives (link), in particular the one on 19 May. The seminar “Visual Marketing o comunicare uno studio di architettura come brand” (Visual Marketing or communicating an architecture firm as a brand) , with university credits, will be held at 2.30 pm by Paolo Schianchi, professor of Visual Communication and Interaction Design, and Creativity and Problem Solving at the IUSVE university in Venice and Verona, and Christiane Bürklein, international blogger and PR for a number of industry professionals.

Then, at 6 pm the vernissage of the photography exhibition called “Ivrea. Città futura” photographs and curatorship by photographer Gianluca Giordano whose photos were submitted with the UNESCO heritage-listing application by Ivrea.
