3D Grátis: Urban Art Installation by Narcélio Grud Brazilian urban artist Narcélio Grud has created the “3D Grátis” installation in Brazil. An artwork that highlights the behaviour of the citizens. A single theme is proposed in a number of aspects – from food to toys through to flowers.

Narcélio Grud is a Brazilian urban artist from the state of Ceará, whose installations always have a strong social value.

His project entitled “3D Grátis” consists of six white containers, each in the shape of a letter – G R A T I S (free) – some of which the artist hung on a bespoke black wall along a busy car and pedestrian thoroughfare in Fortaleza.

The videos posted by Narcélio Grud on Vimeo portraying the different experiences are a lot more communicative than photographs because they show the whole scene: indifference and amazement, the almost furtive action of taking something to eat, the joy of the children when they realise they can take away the games, no strings attached.

Through to the same letters that this time are used to hold red roses displayed against an iron fence in a city park in Fortaleza: from the flowers are born kind gestures that put a smile on your face, that make the city more liveable, a city for the people, for people who make the most of the moment.

The “3D Grátis” urban installations by Narcélio Grud clearly improve the environment, they encourage citizens to engage with their surroundings, they release a truly renewable energy – joy.
