BCQ Baena Casamor - Architectural Landscapes exhibition, Berlin

The exhibition currently open at Architektur Galerie Berlin is a reflection on the role of southern European architecture in central Europe through the work of BCQ architectural studios, founded in 1991 by architects David Baena and Toni Casamor.

The title "Architectural Landscapes" has two meanings, indicating the close relationship between architecture, built objects and the open space around them. At the same time, it also refers to the modus operandi of architects David Baena and Toni Casamor, who work with the dialectics between built and unbuilt, between positive and negative volumes, in an attempt to do away with the rigid separation between the architectural building and the landscape.

Studio BCQ?s projects are presented in 2 photographic images: an overall view and a detail, accompanied by a brief text, like notes in the margin of a sketch revealing the architects? thoughts. The installation is completed with chairs like those designed for Joan Maragall Library under construction in Barcelona, extending out of the gallery to create an invitation to enter the urban space.
