Bas Princen Exhibition - Rome
From September 23 to October 8 2011 the Casa dell'Architettura in Rome, hosts the first exhibition of the work of Bas Princen focusing on 9 selected photographs from "Reservoir", the photographer?s most recent work, published in 2011.

Bas Princen sees architecture as a privileged starting point for making his contribution to debate about contemporary art, and he does it by using photography to question and interpret transformation of the great urban centres of the new millennium.

For his most recent project, "Reservoir", he took photographs all over the world: construction sites, quarries, buildings, demolitions and glimpses of homes, but what interests him most is the relationship between natural and artificial in post-modern architectural culture.

Princen creates ideal representations which do not draw on the past or look forward to the future, but become disturbing, paradoxical symbols of the human condition today.
