arcVision Prize Women and Architecture and Women for Expo

Architect Odile Decq attended the presentation of the arcVision Prize, Women and Architecture. The third edition of the competition established to draw attention to women in architecture included announcement of an agreement with WE-Women for Expo, an Expo Milano 2015 project for building a worldwide network of women focusing on the Expo theme: Feed the planet.

The new edition of the arcVision Prize – Women and Architecture award, set up by the Italcementi Group to draw attention to women in architecture, was presented in Milan at an event featuring the announcement of a partnership with WE-Women for Expo, an Expo Milano 2015 project intended to construct a worldwide network of women focusing on the theme of sustainability and nutrition, in line with the theme of Expo 2015: Feed the planet: Energy for life.
The arcVision Prize, Women and Architecture offers a snapshot of the presence of women in architecture all over the world today, with the participation of 22 women architects from 17 different countries and an all-women jury including architecture professionals such as Odile Decq (Studio Odile Decq), Yvonne Farrell (Grafton Architects) Louisa Hutton (Sauerbruch Hutton), Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT Enric Miralles - Benedetta Tagliabue Arquitectes), and Martha Thorne (director of the Pritzker Prize, the “Nobel Prize” of architecture).
The winners of the previous two editions of the competition were Brazilian architect Carla Juaçaba (2013) and Portuguese architect Ines Lobo (2014).
