March 6 2014 saw the opening of an exhibition curated by Maria Savarese about the work of Franco-Cuban artist and photographer Ana Gloria Salvia.
The photographs on exhibit are not intended to be a catalogue of 20th century architecture in Cuba; Ana Gloria Salvia explores and documents the pure geometries of architecture, and particularly Cuban architecture that has been neglected because it is not in the classic colonial style normally associated with the country.
The starting point for the exhibition is a series of images of Focsa, a famous concrete building that struck the artist and photographer’s imagination.

On March 22, ANIAI (Italy’s National Association of Architects and Engineers) will hold a meeting coordinated by the association’s chairman, architect Alessandro Castagnaro, focusing on 20th century Cuban architecture with the participation of Ricardo Porro, an architect from Cuba’s Escuelas Nacionales de Arte.
