AIA, American Institute of Architects, has selected 20 projects for the fifth Small Project Awards competition.

AIA Small Project Awards: 20 projects selected Established by the AIA (American Institute of Architects), the Small Project Awards are intended to focus on and promote small-scale projects in order to make the public aware of the value architects assign to their work, independently of its size.
Awards are presented in three categories: Small project objects (furnishings, finishes), Small project structures, Accessible residential designs.
Projects selected in the "Small Project Structures" category include:

the Swamp Hut by Moskow Linn Architects designed to create a structure that would facilitate use in swampy areas;
the Trail Restroom by Miró Rivera Architects, designed to be a sculpture in a park;
the Ferrous House by Johnsen Schmaling Architects, demonstrating how a house built in the ?70s can be reinvented and updated;
the Dar Luz, which participated in Glow 2008 (an international forum on light in art and architecture).

In the "Accessible residential designs" category ,

the Founders' Circle Wall at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center by RMJM Merje offers an example of collaboration between architecture and environmental graphic design.
