Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld always seeks to design every single aspect of his projects; in a home, for example, he will design not only the building but the interiors, the furniture, etc. He sees architecture as a single unit, to be designed from A to Z. Visitors to the exhibition at Architekturzentrum in Vienna can find out more about the work of the architect who has won the competition for redevelopment of the Eislaufverein area by looking at items of furniture and objects designed by Isay Weinfeld for his buildings.
The Brazilian architect assigns great importance to the narrative aspect of his projects, represented in the exhibition in short films made by Isay Weinfeld himself and in the film “Fogo e Paixão” / Fire and Passion (BR, 1988, 90 min) made with Marcio Kogan.
The architect also designed the installation, which focuses on a number of details of his buildings without presenting the whole project. Isay Weinfeld invites visitors to travel with him through his work, from a door handle from an office building to the interior of a McDonald’s, from an Instagram installation to a fruit bowl, from the A to the Z of his architectural projects.
