The building, designed by EASTERN design architectural studios in response to their client's unusual request for “a home awaiting death”, stands on a block of cement raised 8.6 m above sea level in an eastward facing bay. The home’s height ensures that its inhabitants always have a view out over the ocean waves, even when sitting down. The architects analysed all the possible positions in which a person might enjoy the view (sitting, lying down, standing, etc.) and built windows of different sizes at different levels in succession like butterfly wings. The entrance offers the best views of all, at the tip of a visual cone formed out of the two oblique windows cut into the side walls to make sure that the waves are visible from everywhere in the home.
