Vanke is China’s biggest real estate developer. The company builds and sells properties in more than 60 cities, and recently had to redesign and enlarge its Shenzen offices. BLVD International enthusiastically accepted the challenge with the goal of creating connections.

Vanke’s new offices designed by BLVD

BLVD International was appointed to design the new Shenzen offices of Vanke, China’s biggest real estate developer, which is of course growing rapidly and needed to adapt to a new working paradigm with a focus on interaction.

BLVD approached the project methodically. They needed to maintain Vanke’s superb identity while creating a more casual working environment in a contemporary mood, suitable for creating connections among the people working there and between them and society in general. And so while the new offices may appear cold at first sight, with the exception of the managerial offices, closer inspection reveals the bright colours and dynamic shapes of the furnishings that contribute to the climate of informality.

In order to maintain a serious, professional image, the walls are painted black, the hues of the flooring are cold, and the ceilings are left uncovered in places. But the working environment is made more liveable with brightly coloured chairs and colourful patterns. The VIP area features black contrasting with wood and warm hues to add an extra touch of refinement.
