Ventilated façades - Placing and installing
Installation of a ventilated façade is divided into several phases:
Tracing
This phase is closely connected with the working plan. It entails deciding the positioning of the various elements in the project and checking the levels and plumbs of the façades. Instruments such as lasers, spirit levels, metal tape measures and plumb-lines are normally used to do this.
Installing the brackets
After determining where the brackets are to be positioned, holes are drilled in the masonry and the brackets are installed by means of chemical or mechanical anchors.
Installing the insulation mantle
The installation mantle is then installed using nylon anchors.
Installing the framework
After fitting the vertical uprights into the brackets, a perfectly perpendicular reference plane must be formed with level horizontal lines and plumb vertical lines to build the structure. This structure is then permanently anchored to the brackets by means of rivets.
Installation of the slabs
The final phase involves installation of the slabs by means of coloured clips inserted into the uprights anchored by rivets which will guarantee constant adherence over time.
A special rubber seal is placed between the slab and the framework to form a cushion between the slab and the aluminium preventing vibration.
If the structure is of a "concealed" type, this phase is preceded by installation of horizontal battens to which the slabs are anchored by means of special clips mechanically attached to the back of the slabs.
